PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Afton Fire district will hold a hearing to take public comment on its 2010 budget at 7:00 pm on October 20, 2009 in the Afton Fire Station at 15 Spring Street. A copy of the budget may be seen at the Afton Town Clerk's office during office hours.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Preliminary Budget of the Town of Afton for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2010, has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk at 169 Main Street, Afton, NY where it is available for inspection by any interested person during regular business hours.

FURTHER NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of Afton will hold a Public Hearing thereon at the Town Office, 169 Main Street, Afton, at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening November 12, 2009, and at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or against any item or items therein contained.

Pursuant to Section 113 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of the following elected officials are hereby specified as follows:
Supervisor $7,280
Town Justice (2) $8,500 each
Town Council (4) $6,000 each
Town Clerk $18,400
Supt. of Highways $39,000

LEGAL NOTICE The following roads in the Town of Afton have been designated as limited use by Highway Superintendent William Latham, and the Town Council: Lingee Road from Melondy Hill Road to the dead end and Oxbow Road from the turnaround to I-88, effective December 1, 2009 through April 1, 2010.

LEGAL NOTICE PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Afton is offering for sale by sealed bid a 5 yard stainless steel Swenson road sander. Will be sold “as is”.

The sander is available for inspection at the Town Garage on Caswell St. in Afton, NY from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. To inspect the sander contact the Highway Superintendent at (607) 639-2182 for an appointment.

Bids are to be in a sealed envelope marked “Sander bid” and are to be delivered to Shirley Haynes, Town Clerk at 169 Main Street Afton, NY 13730 no later than 7:00 p.m. November 12, 2009. Bids so received shall be opened and read publicly at 7:15 p.m. November 12, 2009. The Afton Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
